DaVinci-MIMS System Requirements

Listed below are several categories of requirements.  DaVinci-MIMS will run on a Low End machine, but for maximum performance, you can step up the requirements.  Please note that the memory and hard drive recommendations do not reflect what is absolutely required as this will be dictated by the modules that you purchase and the 3rd party software that accompanies those modules.  These are only recommendations for Workstation and Server machines.

Please note that if you will be installing DaVinci-MIMS on a network, you must be running either TCP/IP or IPX/SPX as your protocol

Workstation Recommendations

High End

	80 GB Hard Drive, 7200 RPM or higher
	3½" floppy

	Zip Drive or some other mass external storage device for exporting and importing large lessons

	Be aware that while DaVinci may run in this environment, it will not operate efficiently, and it will also limit the number of workstations that can be supported.

3^rd Party software that would be nice to have:

	Windows Media player, or something that will play different kinds of videos
	Graphics viewing and editing tools, such as Adobe Photo Shop, if the user will be creating their own lessons
	An HTML editor like Microsoft FrontPage if the user will be creating their own lessons

Important Notes:

• To run DaVinci on an NT Server you must have Service Pack 5 installed
• Windows 2000 Pro or Windows XP (Any version) has a 10 user access limit. These operating systems are NOT recommended for installation on a Server unless you will have fewer than 10 users (preferably less than 8 users)
