NOTE: This revision history begins with version 3.50L, for information on previous versions, please e-mail us at SupportBack2You@DaVinci-MIMS.com.

3.51p Update

bullet In some cases of team taken tests that were marked for retake, it would not allow a student to retake the test, but would bring up the old test, noting that all questions have been taken.  Fixed.
bullet (3.6c) In some instances when printing the grade report, it would average more than one students into a grade, and spread the same grade across those students.  This is not an issue in 3.51, or 3.7, but has been fixed in 3.6c

3.51o Update

bullet If you add a team manually, and set the lesson before saving the record, it will not properly set the lesson ID, so it will not bring that lesson up when the team logs in.

3.51m Update

bullet Modified the system to allow the user to specify the database time out for cases where slow network access may prevent the database server from responding in an adaquate time.

3.51k Update

bullet It was found that when a student tried to send a message to another student that an error was received about mismatching bookmarks. Fixed.
bullet There is a function used system wide to select folders. Periodically, this function will give an error, "invalid file name". Also, this function does not give access to servers that do you do not have a mapped drive for. We replaced this function with a standard Windows function to get the folder, which resolved both of these issues.

3.51j Update

bullet Made some changes to the Test engine to avoid partially loaded test, which was a rare occurrance, but sometimes happened.

3.51i Update

bullet In certain instances the grade report found in the classes table would not properly average the scores. Fixed.
bullet There were several display problems that occurred when you print a test taken by a student. The sub-title would be incorrect some times. The Matching question had overwrite. The Matching Questions also did not show the students answers, and the Matching Questions did not show which individual items were correct or incorrect.

3.51h Update

bullet When using the back up system, it would stop part of the way through and report that everyone needs to be out of the system. Fixed.

3.51g Update

bullet In some rare instances, when clicking on a test link, Internet Explorer would try to execute the file as a page. Fixed.
bullet Sometimes a station would not load answers to a question when taking a test. I put code in place so that when it's displaying the answers, if it doesn't find any answers, it will go back out and re-load the answers from the test again.

3.51e Update

bullet Matching questions were not being scored correctly. This was due to the recent change that was made in the way that tests were loaded. Fixed.

3.51d Update

bullet Updated the Export from the Portfolio to allow exporting all or a selected lesson, all or a selected test from a lesson.
bullet Grades were not being assigned in the portfolio the same exact way they were in other parts of the system, especially when there is a decimal place. Fixed.

3.51c Update

bullet Added the ability to save the Class / Print / Grade Report to a .RTF or Excel file.

3.51b Update

bullet The Portfolio report was averaging grades by averaging the lesson grades. The Grade report was averaging grades by adding up the individual test scores. When you do this, you come up with two different totals. The Grade Report (Located in the Class table) was modified to calculate like the Portfolio Report.

3.51a Update

bullet There was a problem with the grade report that dealt with date ranges if the student had started another lesson already. It would include untaken tests from the new lesson, even through it had been started after the specified date range. Fixed.

3.51 Update

bullet In some cases with slow servers, when you have a class who bring up DaVinci all at the same time, or who take a test all at the same time, a "Time Out" error may occur.  The time out length has been changed from 10 seconds to 40 seconds.
bullet There was a problem found with the Rotated Random scheduler where the Student ID would only allow 10 characters, which caused a problem when a student's ID was 11 characters long.  Fixed.
bullet There was a problem where you couldn't select text on a lesson page.  Fixed
bullet The "Copy to Clipboard" option wasn't working when on a lesson page, and right-click.  Fixed.
bullet When importing student & class information, if the first line contained the field names, they had to match exactly what was in the help file.  I changed this so that it simply ignores the first line if it contains headers.
bullet In some cases (especially with some XP installations), the forms would have scroll bars on them.  This happened with several forms.  Fixed.
bullet If a student clicked on Student Utilities, then Portfolio, then attempted to add an entry, and error message would be received.  Fixed.
bullet There was a problem with the Roster Report in the Class table where it was case sensitive, and would cause some students not to show up in the class.  Fixed.
bullet There was a case sensitive problem when creating a new schedule for a class where it wouldn't include all students for a class.  Fixed.

3.50x Update

bullet When a logged in team presses the Portfolio button when taking  a lesson, they would receive an error message, "FlashFiler: TffTable.tcGetIndexField: cannot find field object".  Fixed.
bullet If you go to Unlock Codes after entering DaVinci, there is a way to override the Code Entry number, and thus, use a previous access code that you had for that computer.  However, there was no such override button when you get the demo message when entering the system.  I put that button in place to help with the access codes in the future.
bullet The wording presented when a test is finished and the grade is shown on the screen is a little confusing.  It will say that you have arrived at 100% of your grade even through you may not have answered all of the questions.  I rearranged that wording to indicate "test not completed" instead of saying that you've arrived at 100% of your test when you really have not.

3.50w Update

bullet In some instances were teams were deleted from a rotated schedule, then a schedule was created using the same prefix, students would get the message "All questions have been answered" when taking a test that they had never taken before.  This was because the previous team's (the old team that had the same login id) test was still out there, and when the team with the duplicate ID took the test, it found the test and "attached" it to the portfolio entry.  This change will make it check the portfolio entries as well for duplicate team ID's before allowing it in the schedule, and it also allows you to change a team's Login ID (and update taken tests for that team only) so that it does not conflict with previously taken tests from the older team with the same ID.

3.50v Update

bullet The Lesson export function was changed to use the lesson name as the default "Import To" path setting, and on a Lesson Import the Import From path was changed to go to the Date Set path instead of the  Program path.
bullet On the grading report, if you specify a date range, and want to show all untaken tests, it will show certain tests that were taken outside of the date range as being untaken.  Fixed.
bullet When there was a structure change needed to the student table, an error message would have been given that it couldn't copy the student.ff2 file to the backup folder, then another error stating that it couldn't open the file to update the structure.  Fixed.

3.50u Update

bullet When Importing student & class information, if you have two students with the same name, you will get a duplicate entry, even if the student ID is different.  Fixed.

3.50t Update

bullet When you try to print a Note Pad Entry, the screen would be blank.  Fixed.
bullet The Portfolio report prints Retakes, but doesn't mark them as being Retakes.  Fixed.
bullet When you try to run Text-to-speech on a page with frames, it will try to read the Frame Set, which has not ext.  We changed it so it will detect all frames and ask you which frame you want to read.
bullet When you click on a link to take a test, if you click on it again, that click will be taken as a click to answer the first question sometimes.  We put a function in place to clear the Mouse Click Queue.

3.50s Update

bullet In the student table, if you have two (or more) students with the same last name, and you do a Goto, and select the second student.  The correct record will appear, but the caption for the student form will have the first student's name.  Fixed.
bullet When a student makes an entry into the note pad when taking a lesson, that item was marked as gradable by default, which was incorrect.  It will now be marked as not gradable.
bullet On Windows NT, 2000 and XP systems, the Volume control would not work when taking a lesson.  Fixed.
bullet There was an event log attached to one of the database components that caused it to write out a file "ffconman.log" in various locations.  This has been removed.
bullet When a student made a Personal Journal entry, it would become visible to any student logged in.  This has been fixed, but as a result, the student ID was not present in any Personal Journal entry that was previously made, resulting in the entries appearing to be "lost" after this update.  They are still there, and if you want to "put then back", please notify Tech Support, and we'll walk you through the process of putting them back.
bullet In a test, if you are viewing the reading above, and press the O key, and if you are on a fill-in-the-blank question, or some other question type requiring you to press the OK button, it will press the OK button for you regardless of whether or not you've answered the question.  Fixed.

3.50r Update

bullet It was discovered that no matter what the grad was given on a test, the letter grade that was assigned to the assignment would be incorrect.  For instance, a student may get 100% on a test, but a letter grade of F would be assigned.  Fixed.
bullet Some systems were showing slow access during the process of opening the system.  I added a setting, ByPassAliasCheck in the DaVinci.ini file that when set to Y will bypass the alias checking on startup.  This may make some difference in some systems, and none at all on others, but unless you're having a speed issue, it is not recommended that you use this setting.

3.50q Update

bullet When print a test from the Student Portfolio there were a few changes made:
bullet it would say "ModuleName" at the top, when it should actually say the name of the module that this test deals with.
bullet Made the Student's name a little more visible by putting it on it's own line.
bullet It said "set 1" at the bottom, and that should only be there when printing a blank test from the Lesson Repository.
bullet When you open a dataset, it will open it for that station only, as opposed to opening for all stations.  After installing this version, it will automatically come up to the Sample data set, and you will need to select the correct dataset for every station.  From that point forward, if you open up a dataset on a workstation, it will open it for that station only.

3.50p Update

bullet There was a problem with the Auto Retake feature where teams wouldn't get marked automatically for retake.  Fixed.
bullet Some changes were made to the Archive System:
bullet First of all, the automatically generated path will now be based on the Dataset path, not the Program
bullet Also, it will display the current data set name at the top of the form to help you make sure you have the right dataset open.
bullet When you first enter the option, not only will it warn you that you need to backup, but it will offer to take you directly there now.
bullet Changes to the backup system
bullet It will now save and restore the last path that you used.
bullet We've added a series of Day's to select from.  That will facilitate making a 5 day "rotation" of sorts, ensuring that you can go back to a particular day of the week.
bullet It will now backup the System data as well as the dataset data
bullet When a student made an entry in the portfolio using the Note Pad, it was marked as Gradable, when it shouldn't be.  Fixed.

3.50o Update

bullet When a student is viewing his or her portfolio, and click on a second test to view it, it would sometimes bring up the first test and not the second one.  Fixed.
bullet Sometimes when printing a portfolio report for the current student, it would give you a blank screen instead of the report.  Fixed.

3.50N Update

bullet When logging in using a manually created team, sometimes a "student not found" error message would occur.  This problem has been fixed.

3.50M Update

bullet When you start the Text-to-speech (TTS), it will continue playing the page you are on, even if you change to another page.  A change was made to have it stop reading the page if you change page, and to start reading the new page.

3.50L Update

bullet On a new Installation, there was a path problem with the sample data causing it to report that it couldn't find the main screen graphic. Fixed.
bullet Due to the fact that several schools don't allow reading & writing to the registry, we changed it over to use a locally stored .INI file instead of the system registry for local settings.
bullet We changed the Copy Protection scheme to allow for an override of the Code Entry number. This makes it easier to get numbers to us, and we get them back to you later, and are able to enter them, instead of having to immediately be on the phone to get the Access Code.
