Flash Filer Server Installation Instructions
Please Note: You should only download this update if you are
instructed to do so. Certain versions of Flash Filer Server (FFServer) are
linked to certain versions of DaVinci. If you download the FFServer and do
not update DaVinci, DaVinci may not run properly.
- Download the FFServer update and save it on the hard drive on the
Server. Remember where you saved it.
- First, make sure that everyone is out of DaVinci. This is necessary
because you will be closing FFServer, which will
disconnect anyone that is running DaVinci.
- If you are running FFServer.exe, then follow these instructions:
- Make sure that you are sitting at the server, then right-click on the
FFServer Icon in the System Tray and select Exit

- If you are running FF Server as a service, then follow these instructions:
- Go to services (Control Panel / Administrative Functions / Services)
- Locate Flash Filer, right-click on it, and select Stop
- Locate FFSrvice.exe, which should be located on the server somewhere. You may want to a search for this file. It is usually located in C:\FFSrv
- Once you locate FFSrvice.exe, drop to a DOS prompt, and change to that folder (C: [enter] then cd\ffsrv [enter])
- Type FFSrvice.exe /u - this will install the service.
- Now, proceed to installing the updated version.
- Locate and Double-click on the FFServer Update File (FFS213Upd.exe).
- The Unzip to Folder should be C:\FFSrv, which is the default path.
This path should be correct. Simply press the Unzip button.
- Now, we need to restart FFServer.
- if you are running FFServer.exe, then click on the Windows Start
button, then Programs, then Startup, then FFServer. Once you've done
this, you're all finished.
- If you are running FFServer as a service, then once again, drop to DOS, change folders to the same folder you notied above for the location of FFSrvice.exe, then type FFSrvice /i
